Hi! I’m Ayala!

I’m an experimental animator and mixed media artist from the Greatest City in America–Baltimore!

In my personal work, I blend traditional and digital media to create works that question our relationships with technology, identity, and religion.

Recent Projects

    • Vejigante I is an interactive installation about masking, family, and closeness—it illustrates my internal struggle about whether to come out to my Puerto Rican family.
  • I also work as a freelance animator, designer, and compositor. I love making title sequences and working with musicians!

    Notable Projects Include:

    • Boheme in the Heights (Director, Art Direction)
      A Spanish language adaptation of the opera "La Bohème" set in Washington D.C. at the start of the Coronavirus pandemic, produced by INseries Opera House. trailer
      The Storydancer (Title Sequence, Graphics, Post-Production)
      An inspiring documentary about news anchor turned dance instructor, Maria Broom, best known for her role in HBO’s hit show, The Wire.
      Expressions 2026 (Director/Animator)
      Opulent collages of student work set to music created as show openers for Expressions, BSA’s annual fundraiser.
  • I teach Animation, Motion Graphics, and Digital Imaging at Baltimore School for the Arts and Anne Arundel Community College.
