Vejigante I is an interactive installation about masking, family, and closeness -- it illustrates my internal struggle about whether to come out to my Puerto Rican family. By peering through the beaded eyes of the paper-mache vejigante mask, the audience sees the animation playing on the embedded monitor, where family anecdotes become evidence in my internal debate.
